Our Story

Original Pancake House

The Original Pancake House was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke. Drawing upon their many years of experience in the culinary field, and their extensive working knowledge of authentic national and ethnic pancake recipes, they were able to offer this unique and original menu. The Original Pancake House is a second and third generation family business, which takes great pride in maintaining the high standards that make our food so outstanding. We now have over one hundred franchises from coast to coast, which have won local and national acclaim. Our recipes demand only the very finest of ingredients, such as 93 score butter, pure 36% whipping cream, fresh grade AA eggs, hard wheat unbleached flour, and our own sourdough starter. Our batters and sauces are made fresh in each restaurant’s kitchen, and juices are squeezed fresh daily.

The first Las Vegas location was opened in 1995 by Stephan and Kim Freudenberger, who have gone on to open several locations since. This year we are celebrating our 25th year of happily serving the Las Vegas community and looking forward to continuing doing what we love.

Our Omelettes are made with four whipped Eggs, rolled in a skillet and then oven baked for approximately 18 minutes, to give you a splendidly light and fluffy take on this breakfast staple. Served with a side of three Buttermilk Pancakes.


Our Waffles are Belgian style, thick, fluffy and golden brown. Delicious just plain or made with Fruit, Bacon, or Pecans.

Egg Specialities

We use only the finest grade AA Eggs, Specially Cured Ham, and Hickory Smoked Bacon to create these classic breakfast favorites. Served with a side of three Buttermilk Pancakes.

Pancake Specialties

Our signature Pancakes include the World-Famous Apple Pancake dripping with Cinnamon Glaze, the German Pancake, the Dutch Baby and the Dutch Garden. We highly recommend you try one or all of these decadent dishes!

Classic Pancakes

Our Pancake Batters are made daily from the finest ingredients, such as 93 Score Butter, pure Whipping Cream, fresh grade AA Eggs, Hardwheat Unbleached Flour, and our Sourdough Yeast. We serve 18 types of Pancakes from our secret recipes created in 1953.


Our Gourmet Crepes begin with freshly made Batter and come out delicately golden brown. Whether you choose to fill them with one of our fruit choices, scrambled eggs and meat, spinach and cheese or just leave them plain, these Crepes are sure to become your new Pancake House favorite for breakfast and lunch.

Our Pancake House Originals

The Originals include our three versions of the classic Eggs Benedict, served with Homemade Hollandaise Sauce. Classic or Challah French Toast, Pigs in a Blanket, and in-house Specialty Corn Beef Hash.


Our Salads are made with only the freshest Lettuce and Vegetables. Try our Chef, House, or Asian Chicken salad for a light lunch option.


Delicious Hot and Cold Sandwiches are served with your choice of French Fries or German Style Potatoes. We also offer a wide selection of Breads: White, Wheat, Sourdough, Seven Grain, Rye Challah, or French Roll.


Our delicious, Juicy, Half-Pound Burgers are made from top quality Ground Sirloin. Choose to top yours with Bacon, Egg, Avocado or Mushrooms and add your choice of French Fries or German Style Potatoes on the side.


The Original Pancake House squeezes our Orange and Grapefruit juice on site daily, providing you with the freshest glass of Pure Juice. Filled with Pulp and very refreshing
